Hand Bound Book with Accordion Spine

Learn traditional bookbinding techniques to create a beautiful hand bound book with an accordion fold or pleated spine. This hard cover book is unique in that the pages are sewn onto the folds of the accordion spine. Using mat board, decorative papers, and acid-free paper, participants will learn to measure, size paper and mat board, and miter corners. Once completed, this book takes on a sculptural quality. A recipe for traditional bookbinding paste is included. Please bring a ruler, utility knife, pencil, and eraser to class.Supply cost per student: $25.00
