Meeting Rooms for Rent
We have seven meeting rooms in Vancouver’s West End available. So, whether you’re looking for a small meeting room for hire, a seminar room rental, or simply want to host a meetup, birthday or breakout session, our choice of meeting rooms in the West End will fulfill your needs. Birthday Party Packages (2-7 yrs)
Make your child’s birthday extra special with our fun-filled party package. Best suited for children ages 2 to 7, our birthday parties include time in the auditorium with a bouncy castle and Playtime toys, followed by celebrations in a Party Room with tables, chairs, and a fridge for food storage.
This Party Includes:
- 1 hour in the Auditorium with a bouncy castle and Playtime toys
- Party Room for food, gifts, and socializing, with tables, chairs, and fridge access
- 2 party attendants to assist with set-up, clean-up, and equipment supervision
- 30 minutes for set-up before the party and 30 minutes for clean-up after
- Staff do not lead games or structured activities
- Food, drinks, utensils, or decorations (families must bring their own)
- No glitter, piñatas, or ceiling decorations
- Set-up time: 30 minutes
- Playtime in the Auditorium: 1 hour
- Party Room: 1 hour
- Clean-up time: 30 minutes
- Maximum 15 children and 40 total guests
- Food must be brought by families (no heating or cooking on-site)
- No food, drinks, shoes, or additional toys allowed in the bouncy castle
- Birthday times cannot be extended or adjusted
- Cancellation Policy: Cancellations require 14 days’ notice and are subject to a $5 fee. No refunds for cancellations made less than 14 days before the party.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who can rent rooms?
Anyone can rent rooms (based on availability) as long as no admission fee is charged. Sale or promotion of goods, services, religious beliefs or political beliefs is prohibited without written permission from the Recreation Supervisor.
Can I Serve Alcohol
Alcohol may be served with a valid liquor license and a Serving It Right certificate. Visit Serving it Right for more information. Please note, Liquor License and Serving it Right Certificate must be submitted two weeks prior to the rental date.
Can I serve food?
Yes, you can serve food. We do not have full kitchen amenities for food preparation. Personal catering can be brought in.
What equipment is available?
Various tables, chairs, and podiums are available, based on availability and room capacity. Discuss your equipment needs with the rental coordinator before booking.
Can I promote my event using the West End Community Centre name?
Not without specific written permission from WECC. Promotional material may refer to the centre as “A rented community hall at 870 Denman St.”
How do I rent a room?
Once you have determined your rental needs, phone or email the rental coordinator with the details. We strongly recommend you see the facilities in person before entering into a rental agreement. Read all regulations on the back of the contract before signing. You may pay by Visa, MasterCard, debit card, cash or cheque (if paying by cheque, allow 10 working days for bank clearance prior to the rental). The rental is not confirmed until full payment is received

Capacities are based on total area. They do not include table space
All rentals will include set up and clean up time in the rental agreement.
We recommend you assess the room in person before signing a rental agreement.
Please read the regulations on the back of the contract before signing.
Any extra staff costs incurred by the renter will be levied at $21.91/hr. This includes, but is not limited to:Building supervision beyond regular hours of operation, extra building supervision required during hours of operation, extra clean up required after.
The minimum staff charge is four hours if you use the facility outside of regular operating hours.
A $200 or $500 damage deposit may apply depending on the scope of your rental event.
The federal government requires us to collect SOCAN fees if pre-recorded music is played. SOCAN: $22.06 – $63.49 + tax (based on room capacity). Re:Sound: $9.25 – $26.63 + tax (based on room capacity)
Rentals are not confirmed until full payment is received and rental agreement signed.
