After many years of serving the community, we are sad to announce that the Little Sprout Preschool is closing it’s doors August 31, 2025.
The Board of Directors has made this very difficult decision after considerable review, and several months of exploring alternative solutions. Unfortunately, ongoing financial challenges have made this program unsustainable.
This decision was not taken lightly. WECCA has actively pursued a range of options in hopes of preserving the program.
Despite these extensive efforts, the LSP program has continued to operate at a substantial deficit for several consecutive years. As a non-profit organization, WECCA is no longer in a financial position to absorb this level of operational loss.
We recognize that this program has had a long-standing and meaningful presence in the West End and that its closure will have an impact on families and the broader community.
We would like to thank the staff, patrons and community for supporting the program throughout the years.
