This course, which is geared toward folks of “a certain age”, is made up of a series of classes in which the instructor, Dan Casavant, takes the students on a trip through the evolution of North American culture via the history of 20th century popular music and its impact on youth culture. In this Winter term there will be an in depth look into the 1960s and 70s from the advent of the Beatles/British Invasion onwards. Viewing archival videos is a major component of the experience in this class. The Winter term of “Talkin’ about Our Generation” is a continuation of the previous 3 terms that began in the Winter of 2023.It has proven to be a very popular and well enrolled and attended class with many students continuing from one term to the next. This course can be entered at any point so there is no need for concern if you haven’t attended previously. This course is very dynamic and students are encouraged to make observations and ask questions freely. It is a mixture of lecture and conversations geared towards folks of “a certain age”. $13 Drop-in (5 spots open for drop-in per week).
