Qi is energy. Gong means “skills acquired through training.” Loosely translated, Qigong is “energy work.” There are countless forms of Qigong training from Chinese Medicine, martial arts, Buddhist, and Taoist traditions. Visualization, breathing techniques, sound, pressure point massage, posture and movement are examples of methods used to build, circulate, emit, and absorb Qi for health and well-being. In this course, we will study a series of 18 movements known as Taiji Qigong, to mobilize the joints and muscles, and to encourage Qi flow through the meridians for the benefit of the internal organs.
